Some people retire and slow down. I retired and picked up a sewing machine.

 

After twenty-five years in the Canadian Armed Forces I was ready for a different kind of precision work. Something with fabric instead of files. Something made with my hands instead of managed from a desk.

 

That something became Carly's Cabin Creations.

 

I work from a cabin in the heart of Central Frontenac, Ontario, where the view out my window is a lake and a treeline and not much else. It is the kind of quiet that makes you want to create something. So I do.

 

Every Petit & Mighty Cube and every Stitch & Send Postcard starts here, with fabric that catches my eye, a design that has been refined one stitch at a time, and a standard that years of military life made impossible to ignore.

 

I make things in small runs, in limited fabrics, with more care than is probably strictly necessary. That is just how I am wired.
